Town centre businesses have been given a taster of how they can benefit from The Women’s Tour when the prestigious cycle race arrives in Haverhill in October.
The final stage of the national event starts in the town on Saturday 9th October before making its way through a host of Suffolk villages and ending in Felixstowe.
With thousands of people expected to descend on Haverhill to see some of the best female racers and teams, businesses have been urged to do all they can to promote themselves – and the town.
On Friday, Heart of Haverhill organised their inaugural breakfast meeting to talk to businesses about the event and the possible opportunities.
During the breakfast meeting, sponsored by Abbeycroft Leisure and Tesco, businesses heard from council representatives and event organisers, Sweetspot.
Julie Clark, town centre manager, said: “We were delighted to have so many businesses attend and see their excitement building for the big race.
“The Women’s Tour is a wonderful opportunity to showcase both our town and the businesses and organisations within it.
“We hope businesses will get on board and Heart of Haverhill will do all we can to support their efforts.”
